Marketing Communications Outreach Internship
Looking to gain real-world experience, make meaningful connections, and work on one of the most anticipated events in La Plata County? Join the La Plata Economic Development Alliance as a Marketing Communications Outreach Intern and help bring our 2025 Summit to life!
This paid internship is ideal for students at Fort Lewis College who want hands-on experience in event planning, marketing, and communications. Think of the Alliance Summit as a local TED-style event—where business, government, and community leaders come together for a day of inspiration and action. You’ll be part of the behind-the-scenes magic, collaborating with a small, creative team and getting exposure to professionals across industries.

Job Duties
- Help plan and promote the Economic Summit
- Write social media content, press releases, and event materials
- Coordinate event logistics, from registration to signage to speaker support
- Update sponsor records using Salesforce
- Manage ticketing through Eventbrite
- Contribute ideas and assist with day-of production
