This month’s Investor Meeting will be insightful and timely. On the ballot in three weeks is 4A which is the proposed 9R Bond that would raise $90M for school improvements and new buildings for 9R. The previous bonds issued in the early 2000’s are expiring, so if passed the current 5.776 mill levy would not increase any taxes. Dan Snowberger, Superintendent of Durango 9R, will speak about the details of the plan and be able to answer any questions.  Enclosed is an informational packet reading the proposed bond.  We will also host Monique DiGiorgio, Executive Director for Local First, to discuss the La Plata CARES Fund which is open now for small business COVID expense relief. We will also hear from Jessica Matlock, CEO of LPEA, about their status and services. Lastly, we will hear from Jennifer Cassell, Partner at Bowditch & Cassell Public Affairs regarding Amendment B (Gallagher)  and Proposition 118  (Paid family leave) ballot initiative.
