The La Plata Economic Development Alliance is a public-private partnership whose mission is to help to grow quality jobs and diversify the economy of La Plata County, Colorado.
The La Plata Economic Development Alliance, or Alliance, is a collaborative partnership between the public, non-profit, and private sector dedicated to strengthening the economy through the retention, expansion, and recruitment of quality businesses. We were formed in early 2011 as the successor to LEAD, the previous economic development organization that was managed through the Durango Chamber of Commerce.
The Alliance is a private, non-profit, 501(c)6 organization. The Alliance focuses on primary businesses: companies that export goods and services outside of the region, thereby bringing new money into our area. We are the first point of contact if you are looking to expand or relocate to Durango or La Plata County. We provide business assistance such as community contacts, permit help, site selection and consultation, and customized data analysis to support your success here. We also develop initiatives that help improve the overall quality of the business environment in La Plata County. Learn more about what we do here.
Additionally, the Alliance hosts an Economic Summit held in October each year. The Summit brings together community leaders and businesses from throughout the Four Corners region to help people make new connections and learn about new ideas to help their businesses grow.
