The Alliance convenes a monthly meeting open to all Alliance members.  This allows our investors to learn about the latest economic information from community and business leaders, and meet with them personally if their businesses requires it.

The Alliance also works to bring business groups to La Plata County.  Whether it is hosting events from the Procurement and Technology Assistance Center (PTAC), the Colorado Space Business Roundtable (CSBR), or international delegations, the Alliance works to help network our local businesses with new opportunities throughout the state and world.

Information

The Alliance can provide customized data and assistance with permitting and space to help your business grow.

Through our own databases and the support of other local and state organizations, the Alliance has access to a wealth of information that can help your business.  Whether you are looking for economic impact studies, workforce s

tatistics, the latest economic trends, or data on consumer profiles, the Alliance and its partners can help get you the data you need to make sound business decisions.

The Alliance also works closely with realtors, the City of Durango, La Plata County, Bayfield, and Ignacio to help you find space and make sure that you can get it  permitted for your use.  We can help arrange meetings with key planning departments and community leadership, and work with you through the planning process to ensure a timely approval of your land use.

Resources

The Alliance is your first stop for doing business in Durango and La Plata County.  We can connect you to the resources you need at the local, state, or even national level to help your business grow.  Whether you are looking for local business services, statescottdwsmith_mg_1418 incentive programs, information and assistance on international trade, financing for your firm, recruiting key employees, or more the Alliance can put you in contact with the right people to help you get the answers your business needs  to grow.

Advocacy

The Alliance meets regularly with our investors and have conducted extensive retention interviews and understand like no other organization the opportunities and challenges our businesses face.  Through this interaction, we have identified key initiatives that need to be advanced in order for new and relocating businesses to be able to expand in La Plata County.

As a result, we have developed close working relationships with Fort Lewis College, Southwest Colorado Community College, Four Corners Economic Development in Farmington New Mexico, the Durango-La Plata County Regional Airport, Durango Industrial Development Foundation, various internet providers, and more.   Through these collaborative partnerships, the Alliance regularly works to advance workforce skills, space for business expansion, enhanced internet service, flight service, transportation, and more.  Only by ensuring that we have some of the best business support in rural  America can we meet our vision.
